Business Development Assistant
- Hybrid — Central HK, remote & client locations
- 15–25 hrs/week (flexible around studies)
- 1-Year contract (Renewable)
The Role
The Business Development Associate will serve as the vital bridge between GenX Solutions and the local Hong Kong market. The primary goal of this role is to connect our technology solutions with local businesses by communicating effectively in Cantonese and Chinese — ensuring that language and cultural barriers never stand between a local business and the technology they need to grow.
You will be the face and voice of GenX Solutions in the local market — reaching out to business owners across Hong Kong in their own language, understanding their needs, and translating those needs into actionable opportunities for our technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle Cantonese-speaking client communications (calls, WhatsApp, WeChat, in-person meetings)
- Identify and approach potential local clients (individuals, restaurants, retail, SMEs, etc.)
- Translate client requirements and feedback for our technical team
- Support lead generation, follow-ups and relationship building
- Assist in preparing localized proposals and presentations (Chinese/English)
- Visit client locations across Hong Kong for face-to-face meetings and consultations
- Attend local networking events and represent the company
- Provide market insights on local business trends and needs
Qualifications
- Native or fluent Cantonese (spoken & written) — Essential
- Conversational English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, outgoing and comfortable with outreach
- Familiarity with Hong Kong local business culture
- Basic computer skills (WhatsApp, Google Docs, PowerPoint)
- Hong Kong resident with valid work rights (students welcome)
